The Best Chocolate Fondue Recipe
My mom has made this chocolate fondue for her annual Christmas fondue party for over 20 years.
As soon as Zach and I owned our first house, we carried on the tradition.
We look forward to this party all year!
This fondue is wonderful for a dinner party or special occasion and exceeds the expectations of the pickiest of chocoholics.
And I promise, with the right chocolate, it is the BEST!!
Bon appetit!

The Best Chocolate Fondue Recipe
The key to a good chocolate fondue is investing in good chocolate. This is not the time to buy the cheapest option at the grocery store. Invest in a high quality chocolate, and you will not be disappointed.
Even though I have been made this chocolate fondue a dozen times I still don’t have a double boiler. I use a large stock pot, bring the water to a boil, turn it down to a simmer, place metal canning rings in the bottom and nest a saucepan inside.
You can see here the reason for the metal rings is to keep the smaller pot level otherwise your fondue will run out. It also helps the water to heat the smaller pot more evenly.
I recommend mixing the non-chocolate ingredients first. Allow these to get warm and then add your chocolate chunks slowly.
Stir constantly. You do not want your fondue to burn. Chocoholics will taste the difference!
The result will be a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth, chocolatey taste of heaven.
I typically make this fondue a day or even several days ahead of my party, so I pour it into a glass batter bowl that I can then reheat in the microwave and pour into my fondue pots.
Add the dippers below!!
- Pretzel rods (1 bag)
- Marshmallows (1 bag)
- Strawberries, quartered (1 quart)
- Butter loaf pound cake, cubed (1 loaf)
- Mini peanut butter Ritz sandwiches (1 box)
- Bananas, thickly sliced (1 lg bunch)
